This is an easy hike in the Washington Olympics that is not far from Highway 101. The views should be great on a nice day.

From the north end of Quilcene, WA drive US 101 north for 1.5 miles, turning left (west) onto Lords Lake Loop Road. After 3.5 miles the pavement ends and you'll bear left at a junction at Lords Lake (a public water supply). Continue along the lake for 0.7 mile, entering the Olympic National Forest as you bear right on gravel Forest Road 28. After about 3.5 miles you will bear right again as you pass the junction with FR 2700 and continue on FR 2800.

From the start of FR 28 you will travel about 4.7 miles to an unmarked junction at Bon Jon Pass. By the way, this is a well-graded gravel road suitable for any vehicle.

From here bear right onto unmarked FR 2810 and in about 1.9 miles you will come to the Mount Zion trailhead (privy available). Note that the parking is on the left and there's a trail sign that says Sleepy Hollow" - the trail for Mount Zion is across the road on the right.

The 1.8 mile trail is well graded and very attractive. The summit is open in several directions with a rocky top and plenty of trees for antenna rigging.
